Named for the astronomer who pinpointed Earth’s true position in the Solar System, the Galileo satellite navigation system that will help Europe find its way in the 21st century now has 14 satellites in orbit after today’s double launch. Galileos 13 and 14 lifted off together at 08:48 GMT (10:48 CEST, 05:48 local time) atop a Soyuz rocket from French Guiana.

On November 12-13, the 9th meeting of the RNAV Approach Implementation Support Group was held at the Eurocontrol premises in Brussels. 2 H2020 Space projects were attending, CaBilAvi (represented by Amezen) and Ukraine, represented by the National Aviation University. The objective of the latter project is to foster the uptake of EGNOS in the Ukraine, based on the cooperation agreement signed between the EU and the Ukraine to extend EGNOS coverage into the country.
