Presentation of CaBilAvi at AERO 2015

A German city uniquely located on the north-east shore of the Lake Constance that has a particularly rich tradition in the area of aviation hosted again an annual event – The Global Show for General Aviation, world-famous AERO Friedrichshafen 2015.

During the exhibition period from 15th to 18th April 2015 it hosted 645 exhibitors from 38 countries and more than 33 900 industry visitors from all around the globe. Companies were displaying their latest products and innovations, covering the whole industry from ultralights and gliders to business jets, helicopters and electric aircraft as well as avionics and maintenance. The GNSS Centre of Excellence (GCE) didn’t hold back at all and presented its latest activities concerning new training curriculum for pilots.

The GCE was represented by Mr. Tomas Dusa - project manager of CaBilAvi project. Mr. Dusa took part in joint public presentation side by side with GSA, ESSP and PPL/IR Europe association. Possibilities and merits of the EGNOS usage in the aviation industry was the key topic of the one hour presentation. Project CaBilAvi is naturally in line with this topic, thus its presentation fitted there perfectly. Moreover, the GCE cooperated with the GSA agency at their exhibition stand, whilst presenting EGNSS systems. Specialists from GSA, together with colleagues from ESSP and GCE answered many thought-provoking questions from the professional circles and also general public.

Our colleague had very tight schedule which was owing to the variety of meetings, CaBilAvi presentations and also support of the GSA stand. Many talks were held, most importantly with the EASA deputies, chairman of the EGAST from EASA and also with many European Approved Training Organisations and developers of the GNSS aviation applications, such as e-learning system for pilot training.

The GCE considers this year’s mission very successful and is indeed looking forward to the next year of this prestigious annual event.
