Final Balkan workshop in Mostar, closing off objective 2
Pildo Labs together with the Air Navigation Service provider of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH ANSA) organized a concluding workshop in Mostar on Sept 7, 2017. The workshop, part of CaBilAvi (Capacity Building in Aviation) project, was attended by representatives from the Civil Aviation Authorities from the Republic of Serbia (Serbian Civil Aviation Directorate, SCAD), Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bosnia and Herzegovina Directorate of Civil Aviation) and Montenegro (Montenegro Civil Aviation Agency, MCAA), as well as representatives of the Mostar Airport.
The workshops main objective was to present the overall learnings from the work done with the auhtorities in the designs of approach procedures at selected airports (Mostar, Tivat and Nis airports). A very concrete outcome of the project is that Mostar and Tivat airports both expect to publish 'special' LPV approach procedures in 2018. In addition, both the Serbian CAA and the Bosnia-Herzegovina CAA confirmed that they are close to signing an EGNOS Working Agreement (EWA) with the European Commission and the EGNOS service provider (ESSP). The ESSP also participated to present the findings of their BEYOND project. The general conclusion of the participants is that the process has been very usefull for them, and that they are looking forward to implementing PBN further in the region.
